Free n8n templates
Free n8n templates are workflow JSON you can import without paying the author. The n8n templates library is where creators publish those files, including paid ones after they are verified. A paid template is the same idea plus someone else's debugging, notes, and support. The price is only worth it when those extras are real.

What an n8n template is
n8n is a workflow tool. A template is the graph: nodes, connections, and the settings that are safe to share. You import it, then you connect your own credentials. A template is not a hosted automation and it is not a guarantee that your accounts match the author’s. The first hour is almost always credentials, field names, and one node that assumed a column you do not have.
Free, in this search, means you can import the workflow without paying the author. That is different from free to run. The apps inside the workflow, the AI model, and n8n itself may still have a bill. A template page that hides those costs is incomplete even when the JSON costs nothing.
The n8n templates library and the Creator Hub
n8n publishes a Creator Hub help page for people who submit templates. Anyone can sign up and submit. New creators submit one template at a time. After three approved templates they become verified creators and can publish paid templates. That page does not publish a listing fee or a commission, and it does not describe how paid-template payouts work. This guide does not fill those blanks with a guessed percentage.
Use that library when you want to learn a pattern or start from a workflow the author chose to give away. Read the nodes before you import. Community nodes, an old n8n version, or a credential you cannot create will stop a “free” template as surely as a paid one. If the template calls an AI node, you still need the model key it expects.
When a paid workflow is the better buy
Pay when the author has done the part that usually breaks: error branches, a sample input, a sample output, and notes that say which fields you must change. Pay when the workflow matches your stack closely enough that you would spend a day rebuilding it. Do not pay for a screenshot of a canvas you could redraw in twenty minutes from n8n’s own docs.
A paid file should include the JSON, the list of credentials, the n8n version, any community nodes, and what happens when a step fails. If support is included, the listing should say for how long and on which channel. If updates are included when n8n changes a node, say for how many months. If none of that is included, the honest price is closer to a tip than to a product, and a free template may be enough.
What AIMarket24 does and does not offer
AIMarket24 is not a mirror of n8n’s free library. Workflow listings here have a price. The sell form asks for a price in US dollars with a minimum of $1. There is no promise on this page of a free download folder, and the sample prices on the homepage preview are samples, not a catalog.
Listing is free. AIMarket24 keeps 15% of each sale. The first 50 sellers who publish a live listing are founding sellers and pay 5% for six months. The buyer pays into escrow. You are paid after they confirm delivery, or automatically 3 days after delivery if no problem is reported. The marketplace is live. You would come here to buy a workflow whose scope is written out, or to sell one, not to replace n8n’s own template browser. Both can be true: start from a free template to learn the nodes, then buy or build the version that handles your errors.
How to judge a template in ten minutes
Import it into a scratch n8n project, not production. Connect one credential. Run the sample input if the author gave you one. If they did not, invent a tiny input and see which node fails first. A useful free template fails in an obvious place. A bad one fails silently and writes nothing. Check the AI node’s prompt for instructions you do not want, such as sending customer text to a model your policy forbids.
Then read the license. A template you found for free may still forbid resale. If you plan to sell a modified copy, the license has to allow it, and the result has to be more than a rename. AIMarket24 rejects uploads that are 95% or more similar to an existing listing. n8n’s own rules for their library are theirs; read them before you submit there.
A sensible path
Search n8n’s library for the job. If a free template covers it after a small edit, stop. If you are rebuilding the same error handling every time, look for a paid workflow that already has it, or build it once and sell that version. The pricing guide walks through how to choose a number without pretending there is an official average.
Browse listings if you want a note when paid listings open on AIMarket24. You get 7 days of Premium and 50 build tokens. Tokens are for the workshop’s custom builds, at $1 each, not a credit toward someone else’s template.
Frequently asked questions
Are n8n templates free?
Some are. n8n’s Creator Hub lets people submit templates, and verified creators can publish paid ones. The help page does not say every template is free, and it does not publish a commission. Running a template can still cost money in app plans and model use.
Is there a free n8n templates library?
Yes. n8n publishes a templates library and a Creator Hub. Free means you can import without paying the author. AIMarket24 is not that free library. Listings here have a price the seller set.
Does AIMarket24 give away n8n templates?
No. This is not a free download library. Sellers set a price, and the sell form’s minimum is $1.
What should a paid template include?
The workflow JSON, credentials, version, community nodes, a sample input and output, and what happens when a step fails.
When can I buy or sell on AIMarket24?
The marketplace is live.
