AIMarket24 vs the GPT Store
The GPT Store lists custom GPTs inside ChatGPT. AIMarket24 lists files and services you deliver outside that chat window. OpenAI’s help page does not publish a seller commission, so this comparison does not invent one.

What OpenAI’s help page says
The article on sharing and publishing GPTs says personal ChatGPT accounts (Free, Go, Plus, and Pro) cannot create or publish new GPTs. Existing GPTs remain usable and can still be edited. In Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces, creating and publishing depends on workspace settings. OpenAI says it plans to retire custom GPTs. For affected Enterprise workspaces, that retirement is planned for December 11, 2026.
The same page does not publish a seller fee, a revenue share, or a payout schedule. Anyone who quotes a GPT Store percentage is not quoting that page. We checked it for the marketplace article on October 25, 2026. Rules move. The help article is the source of the limits above, and it is linked from that article’s source list.
What you are allowed to sell here
AIMarket24 does not publish into ChatGPT. A listing is an agent, a workflow, a bot, an MCP server or plugin, code, a prompt, an API, or a service. The buyer downloads it, connects it, or receives the service. They do not need a ChatGPT workspace. If your product only makes sense as a custom GPT inside one team’s ChatGPT, the Store, for as long as that workspace still allows it, is the native place. If your product is the instructions, the code, or the bot, you can sell those here without waiting on a GPT publish button.
Listing on AIMarket24 is free. The platform keeps 15% of each sale. The first 50 sellers who publish a live listing are founding sellers and pay 5% for six months. Buyers pay into escrow. Earnings are released after the buyer confirms delivery, or automatically 3 days after delivery if no problem is reported. A bank payout is a separate later step.
Distribution versus delivery
The GPT Store’s value, when your account can use it, is distribution inside a product people already open. AIMarket24 does not claim that distribution. There is no count of shoppers on this page. The value here is a price, a written scope, and escrow. You are trading a chat directory for a checkout. Those are different businesses. A builder with a popular GPT and a builder with a workflow JSON should not be given the same advice.
If OpenAI retires custom GPTs on the schedule in the help page, the directory goes away for the workspaces it names. The instructions you wrote do not have to go away. Export them as a prompt, and rebuild any actions as a bot, a workflow, or an MCP server. Describe the model the buyer needs. Do not describe the listing as a GPT that will appear in ChatGPT. It will not.
A fair comparison table, with the holes left open
Product: custom GPTs in ChatGPT, versus the eight product types above. Who can publish: workspace-dependent on the GPT side, with personal plans blocked from new GPTs; any seller who completes a listing on AIMarket24 when the market opens. Fee: not stated by OpenAI on the help page we used; 15% or founding 5% here. Payout: not stated on that page; escrow, then a later bank payout, here. Refund handling: theirs to document; here, the buyer confirms delivery or the order auto-confirms 3 days after delivery if no problem is reported.
Leaving the fee cell blank is the point of the page. Filling it would make the comparison look finished and be false. If OpenAI publishes a rate later, the rate belongs in the source article with a date, not as a memory.
How to choose
Stay with a custom GPT if your buyers are in a workspace that still allows it and you do not need to hand over source code. Move the sellable artifact to a marketplace if you need to charge for a file, if your account cannot publish, or if the retirement note applies to the workspace you were counting on. You can also sell the prompt on PromptBase; that comparison is separate because PromptBase does publish fees.
AIMarket24 is live. The seller account is open. It includes 7 days of Premium and 50 build tokens for the workshop. It does not create a GPT, and it does not reserve a founding seat. The seat is reserved by publishing one of the first 50 live listings.
Limits of this page
We do not have a private OpenAI rate card. We do not know how many GPTs are in the Store today, and we do not need to: the decision above does not depend on a census. We do know the account limits and the retirement sentence because they are on the help page, and we know our own commission because it is the fee function in the product.
If you only remember one line, remember this: do not plan a business on a GPT Store commission you have not read, and do not describe an AIMarket24 listing as a custom GPT.
